It could be straight out of Coast magazine.
Summary
The Holiday Property
Local facilities:The property is only a short walk from Bracklesham village where local facilities exist including two general stores, a post office, a few restaurants (Chinese, Indian, Fish and Chips), a kiteboarding shop, hairdresser, bike shop, charity shop and a beach cafe with car park and toilets. The village of East Wittering with its comprehensive range of shops and other facilities such as doctors, dentist and library is only a few minutes’ drive away (or a slightly longer walk of approximately 20-25 minutes). And the well-known sandy beach of West Wittering and the headland known as East Head is a few minutes’ drive further on (or a pleasant walk of about 45 minutes along the beach at mid to low tide!). This is a popular beach for all: for children, the water is shallow and rock free (as the rest of the local beaches are too), the sand is very good for sandcastles, there is a beach cafe and plenty of good toilets; for others the beach is popular with windsurfers, kitesurfers, surfers and paddleboarders. East Head provides a lovely circular walk also, with opportunities for birdwatching and boatwatching! Places to visit:Indeed, Marineside provides a central place to stay for all sorts of holiday pursuits: if you are a motor enthusiast and want to attend the exciting Goodwood events of the Festival of Speed (11-13 July 2008) and The Revival (19-21 September 2008); or perhaps you are a lover of gardens and want to visit the beautiful West Dean Gardens or maybe you would like to explore your creative side and attend one of the many courses run by the highly regarded West Dean College which is situated in West Dean House and Gardens; the Weald and Downland Museum with its excellent collection of genuine medieval properties, farm animals, open space and special events and courses is a brilliant place to take children or any other member of the family! Or if you just want to enjoy some spectacular views, explore the beautiful South Downs. Goodwood Estate, West Dean Gardens, the Weald and Downland Museum and the South Downs are all located just north of Chichester, which itself is only approximately 8 miles away, with its stunning Cathedral and very attractive city centre with shops and cafes. Further afield, there are of course plenty of other opportunities for day trips, such as Portsmouth approximately 20 miles away to the west, with its large range of shops including the new Gunwharf development, the Historic Dockyard and the seafront; the pretty town of Arundel with its stunning castle is approximately 10 miles east of Chichester and characterful Brighton lies further along the coast to the east. Whatever your reason for a holiday, Marineside can surely provide you with a wonderful break! |

We stayed for a week in September 2007. We arrived to find the house clean and ready to go. It is perfectly placed, from the front balcony we could sit and watch the sun go down over the Isle of Wight. The area is very child friendly with a large communal grass area in front of the house where the kids could play football, and we could watch them from the lounge or balcony, and the perfect spot for rigging up windsurf sails. The kitchen is well furnished with all mod cons including a dishwasher and Neff oven and it is open plan to the dining room for easy dining. The dining room leads onto the rear balcony and garden, perfect for catching the morning sun and also providing extra play area for children. The bedroom on the ground floor has a large walk-in dressing room and there is a shower room in the hallway next to the bedroom; this shower room and toilet provides handy ground floor facilities for children playing outside or for when you come in off the beach! Above the living room are the two other bedrooms and main bathroom, pictured above. The main bedroom includes a large wardrobe and there are also other cupboards around the house, making storage of all your holiday equipment and clothes no problem at all. From the photographs you can see that it is a very attractively decorated and furnished property, giving a lovely, relaxed, seaside feel. Highly recommended.
