Chichester Harbour Events - 2009 PDF Print E-mail

As always August has started with grey, damp skies but we're not going to let that dampen our enthusiasm for the holiday month are we?! We can only hope that we get a sunny September !  There are some fantastic events taking place in the harbour, from sailing in a Victorian oyster boat to a bat walks and harbour tours.

Upcoming Events

28/08/09 Terror Sailing Trip

Come aboard the recently restored Victorian oyster boat Terror. With just 6 passengers, this is a lovely way to see Chichester Harbour Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. All trips are 2 hours, but please allow 3 hours for your visit. Departs from Emsworth.
£10 adults / £5 children. All tickets to be booked in advance call 01243 513275.
Please note trips will be cancelled if the wind is Force 4 or above. You will be offered a refund or alternative date.

30/08/09 Terror Sailing Trip

01/09/09 Bat Walk

8pm / 1½ hours
A walk of up to 3 miles (5km) at nightfall through the marina, the woods at Salterns Copse and along the harbour shoreline, taking time to look out for and listen to bats using bat detectors. Bring a torch. Safety briefing 8pm prompt.

Meet: free visitors' car park, Chichester Marina, signposted off the A286 about 2 miles south of the A27 roundabout.

 

02/09/09 Solar Heritage - Harbour Discovery boat trip

Departs from Emsworth at 11am
Enjoy views of Chichester Harbour Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty aboard the solar-powered catamaran Solar Heritage on this 1 hour trip. A commentary will tell you more about this unique area.
£5.50 adults / £3 children up to 16 years. No pre-booking, tickets will be sold on the seawall by the public jetty 15 minutes before departure.
